First Milestone reached!

 

Half a year has passed since the official start of the Mad Mags project. Now we have finally reached our first milestone and have reached number 1,000 in our magazine archive. The field is led by German publications with 461 entries, followed by 316 magazines from the US and 160 from Great Britain. In the future the focus probably will shift a little towards the American printings - especially towards those wonderful monster-magazines from the 1960's and 1970's. Additonally there'll be an extensive update in the following months to improve the usability inside the archive. Those boring search forms and click boxes will give way to functions wich will enable the user to find each and every magazine via mouseclick. Some minor cosmetic changes will also be applied.

For our «jubilee» here is something to please the eye. In the tradition of the well known poster for the movie The Truman Show this motive consists 1,000 cover images from our archive (4464 x 3328 pixels, ca. 5500 kb). I'm looking forward to the time, when we'll be able to present a similar graphic consisting of 10,000 covers.
