Mad Mags 1.1

After a long time there are finally news concerning this website. Maybe some visitors noticed that there hasn't been much going on here in the last months. There haven't been any noteworthy updates neither in the archive nor in the other sections. However, we weren't sitting here doing nothing, but were hardly working on various new improvements behind the scenes, which we hope will make the usage of this website easier and more user-friendly. First of all, the «Subtitle» of our website was changed from «Fantastic Movie Magazines» to «Movies on Paper». If you take a look into the archive, you will quickly understand why we decided to make this update.

Old vs. New

Especially in the archive there are many changes. First of all, the section «Advertising Materials» was divided into the sections «Posters», «Advertising materials» and «Lobby cards». This way, for example, complete sets of lobby cards can be displayed on one page. Furthermore there are now nicely sorted «Teaser images» for every book or magazine series, instead of the complicated search forms. The «old» search forms were moved to the «Extended Search», which can be accessed in the archive through the small menu on the top right. Additionally, the extra-long URLs (http://www.madmags.de/index.php?id=...) have been shortened to a tolerable extent. A great advantage is that visitors can now directly link to a magazine - for example in an internet forum - which wasn't always possible before due to various cryptic symbols in the URLs. Frankly, this is not the end of it, but the complete list with all the small details would probably go beyond the scope of one news-article... and nobody would be interested anyway :)

But there's also a new feature we would like to mention: the Mad Mags-Newsletter. Now you have the possibility to receive update listings of Mad Mags directly via e-mail. For the time being we are aiming at a monthly issue.

Have fun on Mad Mags,
Harald (Harryzilla) und Chris (Mr. C)
